Shortstop Elvis Andrus, who was the runner-up for American League Rookie of the Year, received a pair of honors this week. He was named to the Topps All-Rookie Team, which selects from both leagues, as the shortstop, and he also won the Larry Doby Award from the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Andrus batted .272 with six homers and 33 stolen bases. He led all AL rookies in hits, runs, total bases, triples and steals while also overhauling the Rangers' defense with his terrific fielding.
