Los Angeles manager Mike Scioscia won the award, receiving 15 first-place votes and 106 points. Also ahead of Washington were Ron Gardenhire and Joe Girardi. Washington and Seattle manager Don Wakamatsu each received 19 points. Wakamatsu drew two first-place votes and Washington received one.
