Chuck Greenberg strongly dismisses report that his bid is failing

A story on an NBC blog is reporting that the Chuck Greenberg-Nolan Ryan group, according to a source, is having serious financial problems in securing enough money to close the deal on their attempted purchase of the Rangers. That group was selected Dec. 15 to enter into exclusive negotiations with Hicks Sports Group to work out a final agreement.

That report couldn't be more wrong, a source just told the Star-Telegram. Our source? Chuck Greenberg, who said that the NBC blog post is "completely absurd and inaccurate."

Speaking of Greenberg's bid ... after all the gifts have been opened Christmas morning, take a few moments to read the Sports section and an in-depth piece on the man who is likely to become the CEO of the Rangers.
