Infielder Esteban German and left-hander Clay Rapada, who was acquired last week from Detroit, have cleared waivers and been outrighted to Triple A Oklahoma City. The silver lining for them is that they will be non-roster invites to spring training.
Right-hander Geoff Geary and infielder Ray Olmedo will also be non-roster invites after agreeing to minor-league deals. Geary made Houston's Opening Day roster last season but spent most of 2009 at Triple A Round Rock. Olmedo, a switch-hitter, spent last season with Tampa Bay's Triple A team in Durham, N.C.
The Rangers now have 38 players on the 40-man roster.
