Rangers sign Khalil Greene one-year contract

The Rangers have signed infielder Khalil Greene to a one-year contract. With St. Louis last season, Greene, 30, hit .200 with six home runs and 24 RBI. A first-round pick by the San Diego Padres in 2002, Greene has a career average of .245 with 90 home runs and 352 RBI.

To make room on the 40-man roster for Greene, the club has designated outfielder Greg Golson for assignment.
