Outfielder Josh Hamilton said the range of motion has returned in his left shoulder, and he will attempt to get through a full workout today. He took a few swings of his bat in the clubhouse and said everything felt fine. There is still some soreness in the shoulder and neck, but not enough to keep him from giving it a go.
Left-hander Derek Holland said his right knee is closing in to 100 percent health, and he will attempt to throw a bullpen session Saturday.
Still no date on when Omar Poveda will undergo Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. Dr. Lewis Yocum was unable to review the MRI results that were e-mailed by the Rangers on Thursday, so the second opinion is still pending.
