This was the first year the Rangers charged holders of season tickets for admission to Fan Fest, with the idea of bolstering the Rangers Baseball Foundation. While it raised the ire of some Rangers fans in the form of e-mails and phone calls to Star-Telegram world headquarters, it also raised money for a worthwhile cause.
