The bad news is Josh Hamilton didn't practice with the team, instead opting for an x-ray on his left shoulder contusion. The good news is the x-rays were negative for any structural damage and he'll be re-evaluated Friday. Hamilton received treatment Thursday, but said it didn't help the soreness.
The Rangers also voided the contract of Khalil Greene, saving $750,000.
Omar Poveda, who will likely have Tommy John surgery, talked with C.J. Wilson Thursday about the process.
It was a long day on the back fields, with hitters not leaving the field until nearly 2 p.m. Arizona time.
The Rangers and Royals are scheduled to play a pair of B games, March 7 and 12.
