Left fielder Josh Hamilton said he will continue to get treatment on his bruised left shoulder for the next few days and will evaluate how he feels Friday before he considers playing in a spring game. The Rangers open their spring schedule Thursday.
Hamilton plans to get treatment and do strengthening exercises and possibly mix in some baseball activities. His goal is to be healthy for the regular season, not to rush back for spring games.
"You've got to use common sense, especially this early in camp, and realize what's really important," he said. "It's not that I couldn't go out and play. I could. But there's no reason I need to go out and be battling to play."
