The Rangers had a short workout, their final one before games begin tomorrow. Before the workout, Derek Holland (knee) and Omar Beltre (shoulder) threw live batting practice and reported no issues. During the workout, Chris Ray (general soreness) threw a bullpen session and said everything is A-OK. Josh Hamilton was also on the field, though, he didn't throw or swing. But he did shag flyballs during batting practice.
These Rangers are scheduled to pitch tomorrow against Kansas City: Rich Harden, Colby Lewis, Doug Mathis, Ben Snyder and Pedro Strop.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia will be the starting catcher, but manager Ron Washington said that Saltalamacchia and Taylor Teagarden enter the Cactus League slate "dead even" in the race to be the starting catcher.
Chris Davis will bat seventh behind Nelson Cruz, but Washington hopes to have Davis bat sixth during the season to prevent three right-handed hitters batting back to back to back. Right now, Cruz is swinging the bat better, so he's holding down the sixth spot.
