Rangers midday report

Here's what's exciting and new in Rangersland:

Chris Davis has been given a day off. Nothing's wrong with the hottest hitter on the planet, though he said he was feeling some normal spring fatigue the past few days. Davis is hitting a robust .538. Matt Brown will get a look at first tonight against the Giants.

Michael Kirkman said he's feeling fine after taking a ball near his ear Sunday afternoon. The impact left a mark, and he felt a little dizzy after doing some cardio work earlier. That's normal, he was told, and he is clear for all baseball activities. So is Brandon Boggs (shoulder). The MRI results on Warner Madrigal's forearm will come in tomorrow. Ian Kinsler (ankle) did some body squats and lunges, and said he would play catch to keep his arm fresh.

Tonight's lineup: Julio Borbon, cf; Michael Young, 3b; Josh Hamilton, lf; Vladimir Guerrero, dh; Nelson Cruz, rf; Matt Brown, 1b; Joaquin Arias, 2b; Jarrod Saltalamacchia, c; Elvis Andrus, ss. Pitchers: Rich Harden (four innings), Doug Mathis (three), Darren O'Day (two).

Tuesday's B game pitchers: Luis Mendoza (two), Guillermo Moscoso (two), Omar Beltre (one), Edwar Ramirez (one).

Tuesday's pitchers vs. Cubs: Neftali Feliz (four), C.J. Wilson (four), Pedro Strop (one).
