The right-hander struck out the side in the ninth, hitting at least 100 mph eight times. Twice he hit 100. Here is what manager Ron Washington had to say following the game.
"That's what we want to see when he comes in," Washington said. "Let it go and throw it in the strike zone. He left it out there. We've been talking to him about pitching, and sometimes he goes out there and tries to please everybody. We want him to understand when we put him in the ballgame, leave it out there. Do what he does best."
He did just that Monday.
