History for Nelson Cruz

Nelson Cruz has hit homers in six different games in the Rangers' first eight games, becoming the first player to pull that feat since at least 1952. He is the first player to have six homers in his team's first eight games since Alex Rodriguez did it for the Yankees in 2007. Rodriguez, though, had a multi-homer game in his run.

Cruz just hit No. 6 in the third, a solo shot, to give the Rangers a 4-0 lead. Josh Hamilton was caught trying to steal third base during the Cruz at-bat.
