The newest Ranger made it to Goodyear Thursday in time for the team charter back to Texas. Here's what he had to say about being claimed by the Rangers.
“I’m pretty excited," he said. "It (Rangers Ballpark in Arlington) has always a ballpark where I’ve loved to play and I think I can help out against left-handed pitching in some different spots. It’s always a place I’ve wanted to play.”
Garko also said that he can still catch, although he hasn't done so since he was in Triple A. He's also content to back up Chris Davis at first and be the right-hander off the bench. Garko said he was glad to be with a team that's been interested in him. He was rumored to be coming to Texas last year, and he talked with the Rangers in the off-season.
