Craig Gentry with Rangers as Nelson Cruz insurance

General manager Jon Daniels, who often answers his phone, reports that Craig Gentry joined the Rangers on Friday in case Nelson Cruz is forced to go on the disabled list. Cruz has a strained left hamstring but was used as a pinch-hitter Friday night. He reported Saturday that the injury felt better. Cruz will work out today as the Rangers again contemplate whether to put him on the DL.
