Matt Harrison headed to the bullpen

When the left-hander returns from the disabled list later this week, he'll do so as a reliever. Harrison is scheduled to throw an inning for Frisco Monday and another for the Roughriders Wednesday. If all goes well, he'll join the team Friday in Minnesota. He's made six relief appearances in his professional career and none since 2006.

Harrison left after Sunday's game to join Frisco in San Antonio.

“It’s a different role,” said Harrison. “Maybe this will be a role I can learn from. I can learn from situations. If I come in with runners on base, maybe that will help me if I get back into being a starter. It’s something new, but I’ll do what I can to help the team.”
