Heck of a day in Orange County, except for a soon-to-be-revealed Rangers player

This weather is spectacular. No wonder the cost of living is so outrageous here. It's a beautiful day, though one Rangers player is about to experience the dark cloud of having his major-league roster spot taken by Omar Beltre. The candidates are Matt Harrison, Dustin Nippert and Alexi Ogando, though it seems to me the only strong candidate is Harrison.

It's too bad, too, because all he's done is exactly what the Rangers have told him to do. It looks like his reward is going to be a ticket to Oklahoma City. The Rangers need starting depth, with Rich Harden and Derek Holland on the big-league disabled list and Brandon McCarthy's health balky at Oklahoma City. Michael Kirkman isn't ready for the majors yet. So, Harrison is a strong candidate to go to the minors and be stretched out as a starter again.

The move is pending. The clubhouse doesn't open for another 45 minutes or so.
