Rangers pre-game news, notes and lineup

First, a sale update. Nolan Ryan talked to the media today, and is confident that he's part of the group that will purchase the team.

Also, Tom Grieve has been selected as the 13th member of the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame. Grieve will be inducted July 24 before the Rangers game against the Angels.

As for on the field, Josh Hamilton and manager Ron Washington mutually decided to give Hamilton the night off. He has no physical problems, but Washington said Hamilton talked to him today about getting a break.

With Hamilton out of the lineup, Julio Borbon is in against Pittsburgh lefty Paul Maholm. Washington had talked about giving Borbon the game off, but with Hamilton out, Borbon is in.

Comments

Harden can play catch all he wants. the longer we can delay putting him on an actual mound, the longer the win streak can go!
