Notes from the Rangers clubhouse

Joaquin Arias will get the first crack at replacing second baseman Ian Kinsler in the lineup. Manager Ron Washington said that Arias and Blanco will share time there until one of them gets hot enough to warrant more playing time.

Mitch Moreland is also starting tonight in what will be his major-league debut. He'll play first base. Question: If the Rangers do indeed acquire Jorge Cantu, what will be the corresponding roster move? Cantu can play second base, so maybe Blanco or Arias loses his roster spot. Maybe Moreland goes back to Triple A after one game. Maybe Chris Davis is heading back to Triple A, though the thought here is that would be a mistake.

Rich Harden and Scott Feldman are both being told to prepare as though they will be the Rangers' starting pitcher Saturday. Tommy Hunter will start Friday, with Feldman pushed back to Saturday. The Feldman thing, though, is not set in stone.
