Post-game nuggets after a bad loss

First, before everyone looks for the fault lines, here is a quote from the voice of reason, David Murphy.

"It's definitely tough, but it's one game," Murphy said. "The sign of a good team is resiliency, and they showed it tonight. We've shown it all year."

As for the cracks ...

The last blown save for Neftali Feliz came May 11 vs. Oakland. He had converted his last 20 chances.

The Rangers were just 3 of 14 with runners in scoring position. But at least they had chances.

This was the seventh time this year the Rangers have lost have leading after eight complete innings, and five of them have come at Rangers Ballpark.

Texas pitchers struck out 17 batters, one shy of the club record which was set July 25, 1989 vs, Toronto.

Yankees were great, and only Mariano Rivera could strike out 3, with the tying runner already on 3rd base.

Why did the Rangers not walk Jeter after the wild pitch in the ninth? And why has no sportswriter I've found questioned the (non)decision?

kipp says "only Mariano Rivera could strike out 3, with the tying runner already on 3rd base"? He didn't...Young flied to right; Hamilton to the pitcher; Vlad grounded to third!?!? Washington's decisions lost the game, Rivera and the Yankee's got lucky, but it was an intense great game.
