The rotation for the Tampa Bay series looks set. After Cliff Lee starts Monday, Tommy Hunter will come back Tuesday on three-days rest. The Rangers are then expected to call up Derek Holland to start the series finale against Tampa. Hunter threw a bullpen Sunday and said he felt fine. He left after just three innings Friday because of a stomach bug. Holland hasn't pitched for the Rangers since May 30. He went on the DI with left rotator cuff inflammation and then was slowed by a knee injury. He's made four starts for Oklahoma City.
As for the nuggets ....
The Rangers finish the season series 6-4 vs. Boston.
Michael Young said this homestand is a tribute to the fans, and it shows how Rangers Ballpark in Arlington can give the team a homefield advantage.
C.J. Wilson has now won his last four decisions, and is 3-0 vs. the Red Sox this year. Fergie Jenkins is the only other Texas starter to beat Boston three times in a year (1974).
The last time the Rangers had multiple RBIs from the No. 8 and No. 9 hitters in the same game was Sept. 8, 2009, when Chris Davis and Esteban German did it.
