Despite his recent hot streak, manager Ron Washington refused to name David Murphy as the starting left-fielder. Washington said he will continue to ride the hot hand, and that of course is Murphy. He is back in the lineup tonight, hitting sixth and playing in left.
Ian Kinsler said he believes the Sept. 1 goal for his return from a groin injury is a realistic number, but he'd still like to return earlier. Kinsler said he ran about 10 steps Tuesday and still had some discomfort. It hasn't gotten any worse, though.
Washington also said Neftali Feliz is available tonight, despite him throwing two innings Tuesday.
On the rehab front, Joaquin Arias begins a rehab assignment tonight for Frisco. Matt Treanor will remain with the Rangers through the weekend, and could begin a rehab stint Monday for Oklahoma City.
