The Rangers have added to pitchers to their roster, activating right-hander Dustin Nippert from the disabled list and purchasing the contract of left-hander Clay Rapada. The Rangers have also added a third catcher by recalling Taylor Teagarden.
Outfielder Brandon Boggs, who was designated for assignment, cleared waivers and was assigned to Oklahoma City. The Rangers also recalled Omar Beltre and put him on the 60-day disabled list with a right ankle sprain.
Rapada, a sidearmer, was in spring training with the Rangers and spent all of the season with the Redhawks.
