It may have seemed like every hit Wednesday night went for a double, but that wasn't the case. The teams combined for 10 doubles, which is two shy of the World Series record. That mark was set by Boston and Colorado in 2007.
San Francisco's Freddy Sanchez had three of them, which was one shy of the record set by Frank Isbell of Chicago (AL) in 1906.
Texas starter Cliff Lee had one of the doubles. He's the first American League pitcher to have an extra-base hit in a World Series game since 1997.
