It was a pretty quiet day in the clubhouse, where one of the big concerns was illness. Jeff Francoeur was scratched Thursday because of a stomach bug and both Chris Davis and Jorge Cantu are unavailable tonight. There are other Rangers in various states of illness, as a head cold and the stomach bug are both going around.
Josh Hamilton will wear the protective vest for the rest of the year. He said it doesn't constrain him at all.
David Murphy will try and test his strained left groin Saturday.
Manager Ron Washington said the team will carry 11 pitchers in the playoffs.
