The good news for the Rangers is that Madison Bumgarner probably won't pitch the ninth inning. The bad news is that the Giants lead 4-0 and have their All-Star closer, Brian Wilson, ready to protect the lead. Bumgarner had another solid inning, retiring the Rangers in order in the eighth. He has thrown 106 pitches, and the Rangers hit two balls well in the innings but had nothing to show for them.
Derek Holland has entered to pitch the ninth inning for the Rangers.
Due up for the Giants: Ishikawa (0 for 3), Renteria (3 for 3, R), Schierholtz (0 for 3).
