No award for Rangers Feliz

Yesterday the Players Choice Awards tabbed Vladimir Guerrero the AL comeback player of the year. The love didn't spread to closer Neftali Feliz today.

The Players Choice Award for top AL rookie went to Detroit outfielder Austin Jackson, who figures to be Feliz' stiffest competition for the rookie of the year award. Feliz and Tampa Bay pitcher Wade Davis were also finalists for the award, which is voted on my major league players.

this is a total travesty. yes Jackson had a good year. not great, good. it might have been great, but a power-free (4 hrs in 618ABs) CF who strikes out ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY times while hitting .293 is not outstanding.

maybe he learns to swing a better bat, but this award was for Rookie of the Year in 2010, not future CF potential.

i don't know how you can not give it to a guy who set a rookie saves record at a high value/stress position that doesn't see much rookie success either.

i guess 40 saves, 2.73 era, 71K in 69.1IP just doesn't get what it used to.
