Rangers DFA Rich Harden; pick up Ryan Tucker on waivers

The Rangers have designated right-hander Rich Harden for assignment after claiming right-hander Ryan Tucker off waivers from Florida.

Harden, who went 5-5 for the Rangers, was left off the postseason roster. The Rangers now have 10 days to trade, release or outright Harden to the minor leagues.

Tucker, a right-hander, was 0-5 pitching in Triple A this year. He also made 23 appearances in Class A and one start for the Gulf Coast League Marlins.

He was a supplental first-round selection in 2005, and briefly played for the Marlins in 2008. He missed most of last season because of injuries.

With the moves, the Rangers still have 40 players on their 40-man roster.
