For the second consecutive day, the Rangers went through a full workout at Tropicana Field, with pitchers working on fielding drills and the team going through full infield drills. Manager Ron Washington likes it that way because he wants his team to be sharp after two off days.
The oddest sight in Tuesday's workout was Scott Feldman throwing early batting practice. It's hard to watch that knowing Feldman was the team's Opening Day starter and he won't be on the playoff roster.
As for who is in the dugout for the Rangers games, it won't be just the 25 players on the roster. The team is allowed to submit a list of extra players who can be in the dugout. So expect to see a few extra Rangers with the team.
If you're worried about the clubhouse being tight, don't be. Not much has changed. The running gag Tuesday was an exploding pen that went off like a cap gun when the lid was taken off. Pitching coach Mike Maddux fell victim to it when Derek Holland acted like he wanted an autographed ball. Holland obviously isn't worried about his spot on the postseason roster, and I don't think he should be.
If you're into this kind of thing, the bodog.com odds of the Rangers winning the AL are 9/2. That's the worst of the four teams.
