Ron Washington talks about keeping Hamilton in CF

Julio Borbon makes his playoff debut today, but it will be in left field. That wasn't the original plan, but Josh Hamilton's performance in centerfield in Game 1 Wednesday changed manager Ron Washington's mind.

"He played the hell out of center field," Washington said. "They (the Rays) are a team that likes to take liberties, and I figure with him out there in the middle of that field we can prevent some of those liberties if they get base hits."

Washington said once the Rangers return to Arlington, then Borbon would likely return to center in games he plays.

"I guarantee they''ll think about going first to third on Hamilton more than they'll think about going first to third on Borbon," Washington said.
