Some notes from World Series Game 3

I may have deflated some Rangers fans with numbers after Game 2. Maybe these numbers will inflate you a little.

The team that is up 2-1 in a World Series is 41-40 in Game 4, so it's basically a coin flip tomorrow. Of the teams that were up 2-1 and won Game 4, 35 of the 41 have gone on to win the World Series. So maybe the Rangers really do need to win Sunday.

The Rangers are the first team to win their World Series home debut since Toronto won Game 3 of the 1992 World Series.

Nelson Cruz now has the record for most extra-base hits in a postseason with 12. Seven players had 11.

Neftali Feliz is the second-youngest player to record a save in the World Series. Bob Welch is the only younger player, doing it in 1978 for the Dodgers. Feliz moved ahead of Nolan Ryan, who had a save in the 1969 Series for the Mets.

Tomorrow will be the fourth time in the last seven years a World Series game has been played in the same city as an NFL game on the same day. The Rangers and Giants play Game 4 at Rangers Ballpark. Some other team plays across the street at noon.
