Another run for Giants, who trail 4-2

The Rangers will take at least a 4-2 lead into the ninth inning. Colby Lewis allowed another solo homer in the eighth and then hit Aubrey Huff on an 0-2 curveball two batters later to end his night. He allowed five hits in 7 2/3 innings.

Darren O'Day entered to face Buster Posey, who represented the tying run, and got the Rookie of the Year candidate to ground out on a full-count pitch. Neftali Feliz is warming and will pitch the ninth inning. The Rangers' Rookie of the Year candidate hasn't pitched since Game 6 of the ALCS.

Due up for the Rangers: Hamilton (1 for 3, HR, RBI), Guerrero (0 for 2, BB, CS), Cruz (1 for 3, 2B, R).

Comments

no comment from the media outside of Ozzie Guillen on the stupidity of pitching O'Day there instead of our best pitcher (Feliz) with the season on the line and 2 outs in the 8th?

at least he was warming up this time, but by the time he would have come in if disaster struck, it would have been too late and a tie game at best.

we dodged a bullet on yet another stupid Dime Bag decision. I like O'Day. I also like him vs righties. however, the season is lost if we fall behind 3-0 in the Series, you have 2 outs in the 8th, how in the FVCK is Feliz not in the game there. just blows my mind.

so we won in spite of Ron, which is fairly common, but it was pretty hideous managing in that critical spot.
