The umpires explain their night

First, why was there no replay on the disputed Robinson Cano homer off Nelson Cruz?

Right field umpire Jim Reynolds explains. "From the angle I had, I was very confident the ball was in the stands."

Reynolds said Texas manager Ron Washington did not ask for a review, just what Reynolds saw.  Reynolds said he didn't consider taking a look at the play because he was confident in what he saw.

Crew chief Gerry Davis said after seeing the replay, they believe they got the call right.

And the Nick Swisher at bat in which Swisher thought he got hit by a pitch?

"We looked at it, and obviously in Angel's (home plate umpire Angel Hernandez) judgement the ball had not hit him and we looked at the replay and even from different angles, it's inconclusive," Davis said.
