Elvis Andrus and Josh Hamilton each had hits, but the Rangers never got a runner to second base in the first inning against CC Sabatha. Andrus started Game 5 with a single but was erased on a double play by Michael Young. Hamilton then singled, but Vladimir Guerrero looked a strike three to end the inning.
Here comes C.J. Wilson for the Rangers. He allowed three runs in seven-plus innings in Game 1.
Due up for Yankees (with playoff averages): Derek Jeter (.281), Nick Swisher (.185), Robinson Cano (.407).
