Lee's agent expects to meet today with Rangers

Darek Braunecker, the agent for Cliff Lee, said that he will almost certainly be meeting with the Rangers today as well as the final two days of the winter meetings. That's not necessarily shocking news as he tries to find the right deal for the free-agent left-hander.

But he continues to remain uncertain of a timetable for completion of a deal. He also doesn't know how far along in the process his camp is toward getting the deal finalized.

"We're continuing to make progress," said Braunecker, who called the Rangers' efforts "sincere," and said the meeting with them Monday was "positive" and "productive." That's how he also characterized meetings he has had with the Yankees.

"Do we have a better sense of where things stand today than we did yesterday? We do, but we still don't have a timetable."
