CEO/managing partner Chuck Greenberg and assistant general manager Thad Levine are on a plane for Arkansas to meet with Cliff Lee and agent Darek Braunecker. The trip is the third to the Little Rock area made by the Rangers in their courtship of Lee, who reportedly has been offered a seven-year contract by the Yankees.
The Rangers are willing to offer six years, and they have asked the Lee camp to tell them what Lee wants in order to return to Arlington. Earlier this week, a source said the Rangers would be out if Lee wants seven years.
