Even though the Rangers missed out on the Cliff Lee sweepstakes, Texas manager Ron Washington believes the team has the pitching depth to replace Lee. He hopes that doesn't mean moving either Neftali Feliz or Alexi Ogando into the rotation.
Both of the right-handers will be stretched out this spring, but Washington is hoping that's as far as it goes.
"That will be the last resort," Washington said. "I trust that Jon Daniels will find something to help us out. If that becomes a necessity, we're fortunate we have that depth. If that does not become a necessity, we'll keep those guys where they are."

You will notice that every comment Wash makes involves maintaining the status quo. He doesn't want to change anything. He also wants to keep Young at third and bring back Guerrero as the DH.
Gotta have a little imagination Wash. Keeping everything the same in this case means not moving forward when you can.

I can see wanting to keep one or the other in the bullpen... but man.. they have great stuff. I personally would like to try one in the rotation. I can really see Ogando as the 4th or 5th starter.
But, I give Wash credit.. he's made some bad decisions... but he also got us to the WS. He's not as dumb as some people would like to make him out to be.
He do what baseball players do.
