Right-hander Brandon Webb threw for 10 minutes off a mound for the first time since Feb. 17 and reported no problems other than some wildness. If he feels good Monday, he would be back on the mound Tuesday and resume an every-other-day schedule.
While he says he can now see the finish line after two years of dealing with a shoulder injury, he admits that he doesn't know when he'll get there. He and the Rangers have set no timetable, and they haven't ruled out being ready by Opening Day. Pitching coach Mike Maddux, though, said that Webb will have to be stretched out far enough to not tax the bullpen early on.
"I'm fine with that if that happens," Webb said. "I'm just anxious to get out there."
