Adrian Beltre went 1 for 3 in his exhibition debut for the Rangers. He also showed his right calf was fine when he sprinted down the first-base line trying to beat out a grounder. Beltre said after the game that he was rusty, but that was to be expected.
Texas manager Ron Washington said Beltre would not play in Tuesday's game in Glendale, but then would start Wednesday and Thursday's games. After another off day, he would play in three-consecutive games.
Josh Hamilton hit his first homer of the spring in the 5-4 Texas win, a three-run shot to right in the third inning.
The MLB Network has added Tuesday's game against the Dodgers to its broadcast schedule. The 3 p.m. game will carry the Dodgers feed.
