A few notes from Rangers Opening Day before the opener

Michael Young's start today will be his 10th Opening Day start for the Rangers. That puts him in a tie for second all-time with Rafael Palmeiro. Pudge Rodriguez is the leader with 11.

The first Opening Day lineup the Rangers had in 1972 went like this. ..

Randle, 2B

Nelson, 3B

Mincher, 1B

King, C

Howard, LF

Biitner, RF

Lovitto, CF

Harrah, SS

Bosman, P

C.J. Wilson is just the sixth Rangers product to start Opening Day. Scott Feldman did it in 2010. The first was Jose Guzman in 1986.
