Right-hander Eric Hurley suffered a moderate concussion and a small fracture after being struck in the head Monday by a hard groundball in a Triple A game at New Orleans. The Rangers are more concerned about the concussion than the fracture, which was revealed by a CT sca. Hurley has been released from a New Orleans hospital but has been told he can't travel for a few more days. He will come to Arlington once cleared for travel but for now is resting in New Orleans.
Hurley has missed the past two years with various injuries. He missed the 2009 season after having shoulder surgery for an injury he suffered in 2008. He then missed all of last year with a fracture left wrist that required multiple surgeries to correct.
