The good news for Brandon Webb is that he came through his live batting practice session in Arlington Monday with his right shoulder having no pain. That's it for the good news though, as Webb struggled with his location and hit three batters brought in from Frisco.
"It went bad," Webb said. "I was pretty wild."
Webb, who hadn't faced live batters since a throwing session in Surprise as shut down because he couldn't get loose, said he threw about 70 pitches. Webb hoped to be ready for a simulated game after this session. That won't be the case.
"I felt fine, but I was just all over the place," he said. "It wasn't like my last pen. After my last pen, I was like this is pretty good.I thought after that I would be ready for a sim game."
Webb said he won't change his throwing program, and hopes to throw again Friday in Baltimore.
