Rangers vs. Mariners Wednesday postgame notes

Obviously bolstered by the Texas A&M victory in the NCAA women's basketball championship Tuesday night, the Rangers ran their record to 6-0 Wednesday with a 7-3 victory over Seattle.

Here are some notes to wrap up the homestand.

The Rangers are the first 6-0 team in the majors since Kansas City and San Francisco each started 6-0 in 2003. Kansas City reached 9-0 while the Giants opened 7-0.

The last time the Rangers were 6-0 was 1996. They also did it in 1979.

The Texas starters have allowed their first six opponents to three earned runs or less in each game. The starting ERA is 2.87. Texas starters have also reeled off five consecutive quality starts.

Each of Mitch Moreland's last three hits have gone for extra bases.

Darren O'Day hasn't allowed a run to Seattle in his last 14 appearances.

The Rangers have 32 extra-base hits in six games.

The club is averaging 39,741 through the first six home games. The final average last season was 30,928.
