Neftali Feliz's rehab was accelerated this morning as he throw off a mound for the first time since going on the disabled list April 23 with right shoulder inflammation. More to come postgame, but the guess here is that Feliz came through it fine. He said on Wednesday that he thought he needed only five or six days before he could pitch again and not a DL stint.
Feliz's return from the DL, which is expected Friday, could negatively Ryan Tucker, who was joined the Rangers when Darren O'Day was injured. Tucker said he's fine with whatever happens. He made his first big-league appearance since 2008 on Friday and struck out the side in a 1-2-3 eighth inning. Tucker said the change of scenery after a tumultous final season in the Florida organization has been a big lift to his career.
Matt Harrison said that he worked in the bullpen on a few things that he hopes will carry over into his start Sunday after suffering his first bad start of the season Tuesday against Toronto. He also recognized the need to reread a few chapters of The ABCs of Pitching to return to a positive state of mind.
Brandon Webb and Tommy Hunter are pitching today at extending spring training. Webb is making his second appearance, and Hunter is back in a game for the first time since injurying his right groin March 24.
