A few pregame Rangers notes, including Josh Hamilton news

Reigning league MVP Josh Hamilton could start a rehab assignment as early as Wednesday if he continues to progress in his recovery from a broke right humerus (upper arm) bone. He will have a CT scan Wednesday, and will be in the Frisco lineup that night if cleared by Dr. Keith Meister. He will serve as the designated hitter throughout his rehab stint, which will run through at least next Sunday. Hamilton is expected to return to the Rangers' lineup during the next homestand, though manager Ron Washington wouldn't guess at which day.

Nelson Cruz will join Frisco on Monday for probably four games. He will DH the first two games and move to the outfield for the ifnal two, especially if Hamilton joins him Wednesday. Cruz could rejoin the Rangers in Philadelphia next weekend.

Scott Feldman (knee) will pitch Thursday for Frisco. He threw five innings Saturday and would likely be asked to pitch six this week. The right-hander would still have to pitch in Triple A before being considered for reinstatement from the DL.
