Rangers put Cruz on DL with strained right quadriceps

Texas outfielder Nelson Cruz has been put on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right quadriceps. The move is retroactive to Wednesday. Cruz left Tuesday's game against Seattle when the muscle tightened on him.

Outfielder Craig Gentry will replace Cruz on the roster. Gentry is en route to Rangers Ballpark from Round Rock.

After a strong start to the season, Cruz has slumped in the last two weeks. He's hitting just .219 with seven home runs and 18 RBIs. Gentry was hitting .239 for the Express in 25 games with 16 runs scored and four stolen bases.
