Rangers going for world record Tuesday at Rangers Ballpark

Reliant Energy will be donating 30,000 pairs of sunglasses to fans at the Rangers vs. Astros game Tuesday in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the “Most People Wearing Sunglasses… in the Dark.”

Here's a little more from the press release from Reliant as well as Reliant's scary rendering of me in shades. I hope the glasses they give fans are better.

On the first day of summer, Texas Rangers’ fans will attempt to set the new world record for the “Most People Wearing Sunglasses …in the Dark.” Fans will put on sunglasses to shield their eyes from the sun which will be making an appearance in Sections 314 and 315 of Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The event celebrates the day of the year with the most hours of sunlight and Reliant Energy’s new Solar Solutions for residential customers.

Reliant will provide 30,000 sunglasses to Rangers fans as they arrive for the June 21 Rangers vs. Astros game.  Rangers’ fans will be asked to don their sunglasses beginning at the end of the sixth inning, and wear them for 10 minutes to become part of history and set the world record.

An adjudicator from Guinness World Records™ will be onsite to officially confirm the record.
