Rangers Torrealba surprised by end to Astros game

Texas catcher Yorvit Torrealba put the finishing touches on the Rangers 3-2 victory Wednesday night by throwing out Carlos Lee trying to steal second on a strikeout-throwout double play.

That Lee was trying to steal second was a surprise to Torrealba because hard throwing Neftali Feliz was on the mound. That Lee was even in the game also surprised Torrealba, who has now thrown out 11 of 43 base stealers.

"I was kind of surprised," Torrealba said. "First of all it surprised me they didn't use a pinch runner. Secondly, with Lee at first and the guy throwing 90 plus on the mound, there's a good chance that maybe your guy is going to strike out. You usually don't want to end a game like that."

Torrealba said the fastball Feliz threw to Brett Wallace was a near-perfect pitch for him to make the throw to second, where Andres Blanco was waiting for Lee.
