Rangers general manager Jon Daniels held a conference call this afternoon to talk about the team's trade for San Diego right-hander Mike Adams in exchange for Double A pitching prospects Robbie Erlin and Joe Wieland.
Daniels said it was a traditional baseball trade, saying: "We get a piece to help us win now, and they get two young starting pitchers for the future."
Adams has a 1.13 ERA in 48 relief appearances with the Padres this season.
