Right-hander Brandon Webb said he hopes to know more this evening about his sore right shoulder after being examined by Dr. Keith Meister following yet another setback.
Webb was scheduled to start for Triple A Round Rock on Friday but was scratched after 25 warmup pitches. He said the effects of a recent cortisone shot have worn off, and he didn't feel he could have gotten outs.
"It hurts, so I shut it down," he said. "It take all my velocity away, all my life when it feels like that."
Asked if he thought he would pitch for the Rangers this season, Webb said, "Who knows? I have no idea."
